Yoyogi is the best sushi place in the DMV. I love their Philly roll. I always order pick up. It's always ready when I get there and it taste so fresh. The prices are also very comfortable. Their soy sauce is just perfect, not too salty. The staff is also super friendly. Truly the best sushi place ever.
Had a awesome experience here with my girlfriend. The food comes out rapidly and the service is just awesome. Prices are fair.
One of my favorite restaurants. I especially love their spicy California roll and lobster roll. I am missing them now. I can’t wait for them to reopen again. The people who work there are very friendly and very professional. I’ve been going there for decades!
yoyogi sushi needs to update their schedule because it says they’re open but they’re not. please don’t play with my heart like this. you’re losing $100 i was gonna spend on sushi today. smHHHHH
This place is the best!! Please open back up?
Sushi was good could be better. The seaweed used to make the sushi was extremely fresh but something was off with rice. The only bad thing is their new ordering system it has to many hoops to jump through and is not nearly efficient enough. All it does is bottleneck people at the door more than before. Instead of asking people for their email and phone number and everything else just take the order print out a receipt with a number and go pay with the number at the front. Streamline don't bloat the process with unnecessary information.
This is a nice cheap sushi place. My wife and I love to go there once in a while when we are in the mood of eating a lot of sushi.
Cheap, simple, tasty. Sad it closes on Tuesdays but great place to go every other day of the week!
Sushi is always fresh and made quickly. Really live people that work there and always helpful.
This place is amazing for the value. The service is great and it is a casual place to sit down and have some quality sushi. I personally think it's one of the best value in terms of cost and taste. I would definitely come back again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a budget eat. They also have good lunch specials but it gets packed along lunch time!
please open back up I love the sushi combo, all salmon, best sushi deal in MD!!!
yoyogi is the best! They have been here for as long as i remember and there isn't a better place for sushi in the whole county. The value and quality are off the charts which is why I keep coming back. Their fish is fresh, rolls have lots of meat and not that much rice. Their california roll is amazing and off the charts. I love the sushi special which comes with salmon nigiri. Yumm I am so glad they are open again after covid!
I've been desensitized to sushi for awhile, because of extravagant sushi binges. This place was really nice to go to and re-experience great simple sushi. The unagi was amazing!
The most affordable, high quality sushi you can get!!!
Amazing food for a great price! 10/10
Great quality sushi here at an affordable price. Fish is always fresh and you'll get full of 2-3 rolls. Food is prepared really quickly, but they do have limited seating. Expect a long line during dinner time. They have very cheap lunch specials as well
Incredible tasting sushi, excellent service, even better price. This is without a doubt one of the best sushi places that I have been to at its price point. I was able to get 3 different orders of sushi for about $12. It all tasted super delicious! Plus the owners are very friendly and the location is very spacious. Highly recommend going!
Love this place! Delicious sushi with decent price; can't beat the lunch special price! Store is always clean and staffs are friendly. Other than the sushi, vegetable tempura is also pretty good. Recommend!
Been a loyal & enthusiastic fan of Yoyogi for over 10 years, so it hurts me to have to write this review. For the first time ever, the food was less than excellent. It was actually quite terrible. The rice couldn't hold a roll together, the tuna was cut wrong, and something horrifying happened to the spring rolls. Hopefully it was just a fluke. Yoyogi, please go back to your normal amazingness!! xoxo
Amazing atmosphere and very welcoming service. The food was crisp and enchanting. Will absolutely recommend this spot to friends. Affordable prices and big portions. Keep it up.
Great little place for sushi. Affordable and perfect portions.
This is hands down the best sushi restaurant in the area! Their food is very reasonably priced without sacrificing the quality. They would always have a long line, and people are willing to wait. It was temporarily closed due to COVID-19, so I had to go to Kenaki nearby instead—honestly not impressed by the alternative.
It's pretty tasty but the sushi was poorly rolled. Each piece was falling apart on both my and my friends order. Maybe it was an off day or they had a new sushi chef but that is my only complaint. The chicken was crispy and sweet and the spicy tuna and spicy salmon were a good quality.
The food is absolutely phenomenal, but ordering during quarantine is confusing. As of Aug 1, you order online, then stand in line to pay in cash, eventually receiving your order. When the store is busy (e.g. lunch on a Saturday, when we went), the line is very long - 30 minutes wait, which doesn't include waiting for the food to be made. Still worth it! Hope they can make a more efficient system!!
I dont like California rolls, but I will go out if my way to get Cali rolls from yoyogi.
I love this place's sushi. It's really good, fresh and most of all very affordable. We come here twice a week and never get tired. Too bad is always busy and chaotic now at their new location. It seems to me they used to be faster at taking orders at the previous location. They need to step it up a little bit. Still, we won’t stop coming.
Finally reopened and sushi is just as good as I remember. The line can get a little long so I recommend ordering ahead.
Love it every time. Good sushi for the price. It can get a little crowded at certain times.
I can't say that the sushi was not tasty. I have eaten better, but it is good. The first thing you do when you order a dish is to eat with your eyes, and that wasn't that nice to see. They closed the box and squashed the sushi rolls. The roll didn't have rice all sides, the rolls weren't cut properly, forgot to put ginger so I had to go back.I ordered three rolls that include avocado inside. The only connection between the rolls to avocado was the knife that got dirty with avocado. There was nothing in the roll. I don't know why I paid for this.
Start off by saying that I’ve been going to this sushi spot for almost 10 years now and they never disappoint!! The sushi is well prepared and quick, the service is always excellent and the lady who is cleaning tables or running plates always has a friendly smile! Love to go when she is there juts makes the atmosphere light up! The best pet is the prices and the ample amount of seating, two levels and small outdoor tables for the warmer days.
In my opinion it is an amazing cheap sushi place that can satisfy any cravings. Again, I highlight the cheap part. When coming here is important to note that you can't compare a US$ 3.5 roll that you get here with a $10+ from another place. Having said that I extremely liked it for the price it was. In fact, I still think you pay less than what they're worth. As you can see in the picture, I was very hungry so I ordered 3 rolls, which each of them were very good, except for the tempura Shrimp (but that is because I realized tempura shrimp rolls are not my favorite). I also ordered an Iced Tea, which was a little bit on the sweeter side for my taste but it was good. All of that, including tip was US$ 18.00. The reason why this place doesn't get a 5 star is because of their service. Since it's a place where you make your order and pay in the counter before sitting, they have minimum staff and the few they have are very busy. Besides that, I definitely will go back.
This restaurant has been consistently excellent for years. Decor could be nicer, but the sushi is always perfection and the staff is lovely.
Love this joint. Sushi is priced fair and tastes great. There isn't much in terms of decor, but it's not a big deal. I like that you can eat downstairs where it is much quieter. Even on super busy days that we have come in, our appetizers and rolls come out super fast.
Excellent vegan and vegetarian rolls. Tons of vegetables in each piece. Certainly did not skimp on the avacado in the avacado rolls. Just as a point of preference I preferred the amazing tempura sweet potato rolls to the tempura green beans.
Hands down. BEST sushi spot in MOCO. Great portions, fresh sushi and LOW prices.Nobody wants overpriced mediocre sushi. Been coming here for years, I do miss their old spot... there was something about it. New one is only accross the street and its bigger yes but it was complicated to order at times. Well now they have order in line system makes it much easier.Still great sushi 🤤UPDATE: Came by deep Into their new spot now and ordering is SO EASY and the sushi somehow is a whole lot tastier. Maybe it's me 22 weeks since my bodybuilding prep but hell it was on point.
A good sushi place. Portions are quite large. I was surprised how big the rolls were and how much tofu we got in our appetizer. The udon soup was a bit lackluster. The soup was way to salty and the tempura breading was way to thick.
My friends brought a bunch of sushi on a take out order, and I specifically requested for Spider Roll, Eel w/ Avocado Roll, Spicy Yellowtail Crunch Roll, and Salmon w/ Avocado Roll. The good: The maki rolls were pretty good! The price is very inexpensive, and if you're looking for cheap good sushi, this place is definitely worth the trip. The bad: Don't really have any complaints since I didn't get my food until it was delivered to me so the Spider Roll wasn't as crispy, but that's not the restaurant's fault since I didn't eat it immediately. Overall, for the cost of the maki rolls, this place is a solid choice for sushi when you're on a budget!
Rude. Had a complaint for an issue with stinginess for something I paid extra for and the lady LAUGHED IN MY FACE. I brought the plate up and it was fixed but the attitude and dismissiveness I was given was completely unprofessional. I’d think twice before coming here because when they rectified the problem they gave me unbelievably more which shows they are 1. passive aggressive and 2. could have given me the appropriate amount in the first place instead of risking a complaint. This goes to show you how a business will test the boundaries to be stingy when they can actually afford to give you a proper amount, when they are hoping the customer says nothing. Never had complaints before but I can’t believe how LOW BROW you handled a customer issue. Shame on you, at the cashier
The ordering system is unsafe and needs to be completely rethought. Good luck if you try to do take out here!
Amazing atmosphere and very welcoming service. The food was crisp and enchanting. Will absolutely recommend this spot to friends. Affordable prices and big portions. Keep it up.
Tried this place already with a friend and I am hooked ever since. I like the fantastic mood and fresh food and beverages. I recommend this place.
3.5: Very good for what it is - bargain prices and OK quality fish. The food has always been fresh and as expected. Good place for hungry kids. The chicken tenders are better than expected - a big serving of white meat filets.
Yoyogi is alright when it comes to affordable sushi. Simple rolls are all typically $3-4. The rolls have generous fish portions and the a couple have classic twists (sweet potato with cream cheese, yellow tail with scallion) which make them quite delicious. -1 for questionable qualityPlenty of indoor seating, limited outdoor seating. The ground floor includes bathroom and ordering counter. The basement has extra indoor seating. They now have computer kiosks for ordering.
Used to be better. Got 3 rolls and only really liked the yellowtail. Not as fresh as when they were across the street.
We came to this spot for a meeting. This place was recommended to us by a friend. Well, it was a winning. The staff members were very polite and we had a fantastic feeling. The food was just great. We loved this place very much and we will visit this place again. Keep it up.
Been going here for many years. Inexpensive quality sushi. Very simple. Very straightforward. No hassle sushi at its finest.
Very fresh and delicious. Price is good.
Really good sushi for really good price. Located in a nice area. So after a good meal you can walk around and get bubble tea
Yoyogi is the best when comes to a neighborhood sushi joint. Generous portions of fish in every roll, an inviting dining space and great service and pricing make it unbeatable for the area and one of my favorite lunch places around. Don’t expect anything fancy, but what they do, they do very well and I’ve never been disappointed.
Best sushi around.
